The Paper Mama's Holiday Photo Challenge: HiP hOp HoLiday 2011

Well that magical time has come around once again and it means one thing---
Holiday Card time!

Every year my husband and I brainstorm around late October about what clever design we can come up with for our 3 young sons. When my youngest son was born in 2009 and around 3 months old we threw together an unexpectedly hilarious card that received rave reviews from family and friends and was a huge hit. He was screaming his head off and I was just snapping away thinking we can try again later. But when I reviewed the photos the second I saw the shot I knew it was a winner.  I'll post it so you can see it.

WE never thought we can TOP that card until about a week ago when my boys broke out in a full on dance party to LMFAO "Sexy and You Know it" that the magic happened all over again. It was pure hilarious fun with a photo shoot, crazy wigs that they grabbed from the toy chest, sunglasses and lots of cool attitude. Keep in mind this all happened in around 10 minutes with no planning or art direction from their graphic designer parents-- just 3 boys and their friends being silly and free and in the moment. We were crying with laughter watching them and it was certainly a special moment.

So here you have it--- The Broglio Boys 2011 Holiday card with a little jazz from mommy of course. We printed postcards and designed the back with "out takes"so everyone can feel the fun and energy that comes out of our house. They will be mailed next week in gold metallic envelopes to play off the "bling" of the theme. Your'e the first to see it. Hope you get a good laugh and enjoy the holidays with your family. xo Jodi

Surtex 2011 Jacob Javits Center NYC

Wow! This is officially my very first post. How cool.

We had a fabulous time at our first Surtex show, for which we are grateful and thrilled.
It feels like yesterday that we decided to take the plunge and jump in-- and so glad we did!

We’ve worked hard to get to this level, and to debut my collections at Surtex was really a dream come true. To hear such positive feedback and to see the smile on people's faces as they where looking at everything in our booth was really indescribable. For a designer that is the ultimate reward.

What an amazing opportunity to meet so many people with the same excitement and enthusiasm---to get to know people personally and to really share in the excitement of an industry that has always made me feel inspired was an honor.

I've been comparing it to a wedding---you set the date, you plan, prep, design, re-design, shed a tear or two, stay up all night (like those college nights making everything perfect) thinking of every detail up to the last minute anticipating the "big day" with such a feeling of joy and happiness and then poof---- your cutting the cake! Bitter sweet indeed.

It's been a whirlwind of emotions that I really didn't have written in my notes. I'm still absorbing it while I look through my photos, sort my info and read messages from all our new friends that we met. What fun.

I'm delighted to be back in the studio and looking forward to collaborating with the new wonderful manufacturers and retailers we met. You were all so positive and were so inspiring.

Thank you so much for an awesome show and all your great feedback.
It was the best time and we can't wait to do it again!
